Project management in (data) science

I am thinking and reading about project management for science and data science this morning. Perhaps there is something of interest here for you. Some of it is obnoxious, but it might be worth understanding if you are headed for a career in commercial data science, or if you want to skim for lessons learned that might be carried over into academia.
