SOP Teledyne Tekmar TOC Fusion Version 1.2

  1. Log into computer

  2. Open up Fusion Icon/Software

  3. Log in

    1. Username: Fusion

    2. Password: Fusion1

  4. Once logged in, select Fusion from the instrument list and click “Connect”

  5. Click file at top left of window

  6. Hover over “Open” and select “Schedule”

  7. From the Open Menu Select “Sample Template” and click “ok”

  8. The “Position” tab indicates the position on the carousel.

  9. The “Sample Type” tab indicates the type of sample you are running. i.e., either an unknown sample or a check standard or a blank.

10.  The “Sample ID” Tab holds the information about the sample, like sample name.

11.  The “Reps” tab indicates how many repeats of a sample you want to run.

12.  The “Use” tab check indicates the sample to be run or not to be run, and the “State” tab shows the state of the sample being run.

13.  Enter your samples starting at line “9” or “Position” “1” That will be your first sample on the actual carousel plate.

a. You can either scan the barcode on the sample or type it in manually.

b. Make sure Method ID reads “TOC Drinking Water” or “Drinking Water (TOC Drinking Water 070219)”

c.Every 10 of your samples run 2 reps

d.Every 20 Samples run a “5ppm Standard” and a “DI Water”

14.  Once you have entered in all of your samples make sure the schedule ends with a “5 ppm Standard”, a “10 ppm Standard” a “DI Water Blank”

15.  Click “File” at the top left and click “Save As”

16.  Save your schedule as the date followed by your name

a. For example, “01-01-2000 Name”

17.  Load your samples to match the positions on the schedule.

a. If you cannot reach a sample well, click on the “Carrousel” button from the top ribbon and wait for the carrousel plate to move.

18.  Ensure the 5ppm standard in slot “A” is over half full

19.  Ensure the DI Water in slot “D” is completely full

20.  Ensure the 10ppm standard in slot “C” is over half full

21.  Ensure the solutions to the right of the machine are over half full

22.  Ensure the waste bucket below the desk is at least 1/3 empty from the fill line

23.  Make sure the Nitrogen generator is turned on at least 45 minutes prior to running a schedule.

a.     ASK FOR HELP IF UNSURE

24.  Click “Ready” at the top, the light on the front of the instrument should turn from yellow to blue and wait 5-10 minutes for warm up

a. You’ll start to hear a loud beep every 10-20seconds, this is the nitrogen generator running, do not be alarmed by the beep.

25.  Click “Start” to start your schedule, once the schedule is started and running the light will be green on the front of the instrument.

26.  LEAVE THE COMPUTER TURNED ON AND PROGRAM OPEN

27.  Once the schedule is done, select “file” then “Open” and then select “Reports” from there select the schedule you saved earlier.
